Residents Encounter Christ (REC) seeks to empower residents to establish a Christian identity to encounter Jesus Christ. The residents are encouraged to share Christ with others, and in so doing, to change the environment of the prison in which they live, eat, sleep, and work.
REC seeks to build strong Christian communities in prison. Residents are instructed to develop small groups, which meet regularly and hold each other accountable to spiritual discipline. They are encouraged to pray for each other, and also for the staff and other residents in their facility. | |
